I would grealty appreciate any help with a REVIT problem with regard to design options combined with existing building elements.
The renovation project requires options where the existing building is affected aswell as constructing new elements. I have experimented with the DESIGN OPTIONS and can make it work brilliantly with just new building elements.
The problem seem to occur when I need to have different existing elements demolished within different options, this is pretty common with projects I work on.
I have also experimented a fair bit with PHASING combined with DESIGN OPTIONS to make this work but am failing. The concept behind PHASES seems to be based around chronology, however I just want to show some walls missing/demolished in certain options not at different times.
I can of course copy existing walls into the DESIGN OPTIONS but this seems like a work round, also if the exsting survey elements are altered (which sometimes can happen) this will not update in the options.
Regards,
Luke

Remember, to perform any operation on an item in a DO, that element has to reside in that DO. SO: For demolition of an existing item in a DO, place a copy of that item in each DO and demo it in the one you need it demo'd in.
And you will still probably want to use phasing so that you can show these items properly.
