can u tell me the differences between all the different exporting and printing options? i understand for example, that PNG, TIFF, TGA, and JPG rasterize the revit drawing and make it lower resolution. yet, what about the differences between DXF, DWG, and DWF? what r the differences there? are they all autocad drawings? and what about PDF? which one is the best one to print to for editing in photoshop without losing resolution. I.e., should u print a drawing from revit to PDF and then insert the PDF in photoshop? would u export a 3D rendering in Revit as a TIFF for and export a 2D plan or section (as hidden line, not as as rendering) as a PDF?

You are confusing image files with data files. DXF - drawing exchange format - used across drawing platforms DWG - autocad drawing file DWF - A 3D or 2D or both, image file program from autodesk PDF - A 2D or sometimes now a 3D image file from adobe TIFF, TGA, JPG, PNG are all image file standards which are supported by many programs. Depending on resolutions wanted and file sizes, I would use TIFF or JPG's for files I want to manipulate in photoshop.

Where does one get this Autodesk DWF writer? Whenever I go to print to DWF it gives me the printer name "Revit DWF exporter"? Our lineweights are comming out fine when printed directly to the KIP plotter, but when printing to DWF our lineweights are comming in very light, almost half tone. Please help!

Is this (converting the Revit files to DWF format) the best way to print and view Revit files without actually having the actual Revit application?

"Is this (converting the Revit files to DWF format) the best way to print and view Revit files without actually having the actual Revit application?" according to Autodesk it is.
