Hi,
I had a question about families. Some families I download from this site can be altered in plan view. They have arrow grip boxes that let me adjust the size without having to go into edit family. How can I get those grips for families that I make?
I also had a questiona about conceptual masses. I have only been able to add edges on vertical surfaces, when I try to put an edge on a horozontal surface, revit won't let me. Any ideas on why this is?
Thanks in advance.

1. - When you create a family use "Ref. planes" and attach/align the geometry to those ref.planes and if those parameters are "INSTANCE" param. you'll have those arrows grip.
2. - "when I try to put an edge on a horozontal surface, revit won't let me" - NO, you need to add a "Profile" not an edge (if i'm not misunderstood the question...)

Thank you Typhoon. I managed to get the grips now.
As for the conceptual mass issue, I've managed to get profiles on just fine, but edges I can't. I'll upload some pictures tomorrow to show what I'm talking about. I'll try to upload the file too if I can.
I also can't put edges on objects that are curved. Once I post pictures I'm sure you'll see what I'm doing wrong.

Here's the file and some pics of what I'm having trouble with.
I can add an edge to the sides of the seat, but not to the top of the seat. And I can't add edges to the whole backrest. Profiles are okay though.

Select the object, click on "Dissolve", select again those lines and click on "create form" now you can add the edges.
