Hi guys quick question, how do I bring a 2D element into a 3D family anf extrude it and turn it into a 3D object? I keep getting an error message when I try 2 load it or copy it into my family drawing.

I would recommend you to try to insert this 2D lines drawing as dwg file.

First, understand that all extrusions have to be closed objects and the definition lines can not cross.  That being said, import your CAD and pick lines to define each seperate extrusion (or whatever).
