My objective is to create an intricate tile pattern on the floor using different shapes and colors. If I could use split face and paint, my job would be done.
Is it possible to use the split face command on the floor? As of now, revit won't let me.

I believe I have used it in the past but not yet in 11 or 12. I'll check it out tomorrow.

Yep I tried. No good.
I'm in the floor plan view, I go to the modify tab, select split face, and try to click on the floor slab I have, and it won't select it. It will select the walls though...
I can provide screen shots, or if you all need any info let me know. I REALLY don't want to place a seperate floor slab in every section of the floor that I want a different color.

You can't select anything from the middle..... must be an edge. << That is probably your problem. If your floor goes under your walls, the wall edge is not the floor edge. Also make sure you actually have the floor on in VG.

Hello everybody. I give new life to this conversation to ask about a problem I have. I'm trying to split the surface of a floor, and I have no problems until I modify the secondary elements of the floor: if the floor has a curved side, Revit won't let me split it.
Any suggestion?
Thank you in advance

You are correct, Revit doesn't seem to permit that.
We don't use split face anymore for floors. We place a very thin floor on top of our floor for finish elements like tile / wood.
