I have 2 computers in my office with Standalone licenses for both revit programs installed on each of them. I create a Central file on one of the computers and then on that same computer, I create a local file and then another local file on the second computer. Then I click on save as/options and make that file, the central file, so that it is located on the 1st computer. On my 1st computer I can syncronize the local file with the central that is located on the same 1st computer but when I try to syncronize from the 2nd computer I get a message saying "File not save".
Is it because I don't have the network license for revit? (I am using revit 2010)

When I check on the second computer what the syncronize settings are, I realize that the this 2nd computer routes the central file to the same location as if it is the 1st computer and does not allow me to set up a location in my office network. So if the central file location on the 1st computer is C:/XX_Central file.rvt, then on the 2nd computer the central file location is exactly the same and of course there is no such file on the 2nd computer's C drive.

no you dont need a network license. You are pathing by C: and revit does not recognize drive letters. you need to path it differently.
if you are using one of the workstations as network host then i would create a shared partition. "location" \\RevitProjects or something of that nature

glad you solved it, technically the central can be on a user workstation if you network it the way Revit requires.
