Hi, I am just wondering if anyone could help me, I need a sash window which have two vertical bars. I thought I could open one of the Revit default sashs and edit it but had not much of success on this way. Is that the easiest way or start making a new window from scratch?

I am trying to learn so any advice welcome.

Regards

Kayvan

You should be able to add these without any problems and this would be good practice.  For now, I suggest you start with a fixed size window - the one you will be using.  Add vertical reference planes in the center of your muttion bar location.  Add dimensions from the existing refernce planes.  If these are equal dimensions, your family should flex.  Now build your muttion bars in relation to these reference planes.

Experiment and learn.

Download the "families guide" from the AutoDESK site and it will help you with this.

Thank you for your reply. I could edit the Revit predefined windows type of “Sash (7)” to make my window in fix size, I saved as it as new type called: N-K1-Sash (7). But how can I make it to be dynamic and not just fix size?

Attached is my Revit project file, window is left is what I made, middle is Revit’s default and right side one is my edit window with another dimension which doesn’t work right. I appreciate any advise, regard.
