Is it possible to see your floors metal deck profile in a 3D view ?

Most times, metal deck is only a layer and not modeled. It could be assigned a material, like we do for metal siding, that will render but does not show in simple 3D views.
People have tried to model items like this but they typically overwhelm the model and usually are not required.
