I have drawn a profile for a fascia. I have added 2D detail components to the profile family. When I load the profile into a project and begin to add the fascia, everything looks great in 3D. When I cut a section, my 2D detail components do not rotate to the appropriate roof pitch with the profile (see attached). Is there a way to assign detail componets (say a 2x4) to a reference plan, or to lock them to a line? Any suggestions? Thanks

I believe nested detail components are a waste of effort. I prefer to add them only where I need them.
I suggest you look through the similar threads below to see if you can find any help.
