how do i create a mass geometry as solid.i tried tried using void extrusion on a massing i have alreading created , but it seems i can't make void extrusion on the mass because its doesn't exist as solid geometry.

I hate the term mass if your not in conceptual massing. If your in a project and you are doing an in-place component, then put it in the right category instead of mass.
All solid (Revit) elements can be cut by voids, you just have to follow the correct process. If you are creating an in-place family with a solid and void, make sure your void is set to cut the solid before you finish the family. If you are using an in-place void to cut a placed family, you must select the object to be cut before you finish the void family.
