Hi all, Is there any reason why when exporting to dwg the font styles you have set within revit do not carry through? cadjockey

Hi Mr Spot, This is what I have done. I have created two types of text within revit. One for room names and like (Swiss721 CnBT)and another for general notes(CityBlueprint). Both are ttf but different sizes. I have set the export settings table to the desired pen weight and layer name I wish to assign(Text). Although I would like to create to separate layers for each text type(Text & Text-N). It looks like revit will not allow this to happen. I export the file to ACAD 2000 dwg. The general notes do not carry through with the font type I used for them within revit. Have I missed something? cadjockey

Your correct about the exporting different text to different layers this isn't possible all text will go to one layer, all room tags to another layer...etc I tested a quick export using the lastest build with two separate text types. 3.0mm Arial & 5mm Times New Roman and they came through into AutoCAD exactly as they appeared in revit... Mind you i exported to 2004, have you tried exporting to 2004? Also be sure to be using the latest build. HTH.

Hi Mr Spot, Thanks for the help. I worked out what the problem was. Yes unfortunately I cannot export the text to separate layers but that's OK. As for the text style not exporting, I needed to shut down and reload autocad to allow the new font types I used in revit and also supplied to autocad to be made available in autocad. One of those obvious things you forget to do and think that it must be something more complex. I've managed to to emulate about 90% of our autocad protocol. Still a few things I wish revit could do but I think we can live with that. cadjockey
