I created a door by modeling it in place. When I started the model-in-place command I set the Family Category to Doors. I then modeled it as an extrusion. After I finished modeling I tried to tag the door and nothing happened. Also when I select the component and go to Type Properties, the Family and Type are blank and it won't let me choose anything in the drop down menu. Please help.

If you established the category when you created your door, the standard door parameters will be there. There is no family and type for in-place families so if you need that in your tag, you are in trouble. Remake your family in the family editor.
