Hi,
I am trying to make a building that has a corrugated metal wall cladding and roof cladding. I want it to look more realistic when I render so I am trying to make these profiles as part of the wall / roof itself. I ave tried to create a new profile of the corrugate metal then apply it as a sweep to the wall properties, but this just crashes Revit everytime so I must be doing something wrong?
The profile is a typical repetitive corrugation style. The profile I created includes several of these repetitions up to a length / height of about 3m.

I have done several metal building types and I only use material patterns rather than modeling these profiles. Unless you have a rendered view where the camera is only a few feet away from the surface, the material works just fine.
Think about how we assign just a material for brick or block. Yes, the "bump" in metal panels is greater than brick but it still works.
If you have a very small building, then you might be able to model this and get away with it, otherwise, good luck!

Thanks guys, I did search the forums for this topic but didn't find that thread. I have already created a sweep for the walls which looks fantastic as the troughs of the metal corrugate profile are quite large and as they are horizontal it gives a great true shadow. It does slow the model down a tad though so I will look into using the materials more, thanks for the feedback!

We use a corrugated vertical metal siding for most of our buildings. I made this bump pattern for renderings. Using accurate geometry really bogged the file down so this works great!
