I need to change the scale of a pattern in revit that was imported from a .pat file. The problem is I have lost the .pat file!
I have exported the revit file to a dwg and have used the lisp routines PATOUT and GETPAT. I loaded both of them into autocad and selected the hatches and both of them said they were exracted.
The problem is that I can't find them anywhere. I assumed they would be in the C: Documents and Settings: User Name: Application Data: Autodesk: AutoCAD 2011: R18.2: enu: Support...but they are not there. I even checked the default acad.pat file thinking they may have been added to that file but no.
Anyone used these lisps? Where are the extracted patterns located?

Did you try changing the scale in cad, then importing that view into a cleanup revit file to get the pattern at the right scale?

Yup...tried that before I decided to attempt to extract the hatch. AutoCAD shows the hatch but since there is no definition in .pat format, it cannot change the scale.

OK...Well, I found a workaround. I downloaded "HatchMaker" and recreated the hatch I had in the autoCAD file. Not nearly as good as the original hatch that I had lost the .pst file for but I have to take what I can get!
Just in case anyone else has this problem, here is the link to hatchmaker:

Thanks!

You can also get the free "hatch22" plugin for revit, which allows you to draw any hatch pattern you desire. Model hatches, to scale. I find it incredibly useful, particularly for wood grain, which has always looked exceptionally hokey in all .pat libraries in the history of CAD.
I reccomend keeping a separate project on your network titled 'hatch library/playground" or such. Draw and test your hatches in there, and then copy/paste a filled region into your actual project.
