I read an article from Revitup (website/blog) about a way of giving a revit drawing/file that sketchy look. I was able to do it in ACA but it was a bit clumsy, well not clumsy but it took up a lot of computer/space, resources.

Anyhow I read the article & it looked good but it does not seem to work. I am using Revit 2011 & Sketchup version 8.

The article instructs to save your Revit file to AutoCad 2004, then import it to Sketchup. Then in Sketchup you can do the sketchy look. Apparently the model can be rotated in Sketch up aswell. http://www.revitup.co.za/_mgxroot/page_10866.php

The sketch look is a good tool to use for preliminary concept dwgs to re-enforce to the client that the dwg is only a sketch. I find that if they get dwgs that are a bit formal in 3d or flat they can get the impression that the drawing is further down the track of developmet than is intended.

Does anyone use the sketchup tool or even better is such a thing possible in Revit?? Maybe the versions of Revit & Sketchup have changed & these things are not supported anymore

With your Revit subscription, you should have gotten a copy of the program Impressions.  That works very well to do what you want.

Used to be on subscription but a bit low on work & let it slide! Yes impressions is a good program for that I forgot, maybe I can pick it up again before next year so it does not cost too much again.
