hi at all.. i'm using Revit Architecture 2011 and i have a very big problem.. when i start render, it works for 20-25% of image and then it stops suddenly!! i tried to repair installation but no solution.. i tried to decrease quality but no solution.
i have PHENOM X6 1090t, 8GB ram and when revit is rendering there are 5,5 gb occupated... so no problem of low memory.
any solution? try to reinstall programm? how can i do a clean unistall?.. thanks at all

hoe complex is the image you are rendering? if there is an extreme amount of geometry try turning off all categories except for walls and try and render. if it goes through then you know that it is just trying to process to much.

i can't turn off category... the projet is about 2 houses and around there's their park. nothing extraordinary... file is 120mb..
but is it normal that revit render gives up when scene is too much complex? this is not professional for a software that is developed to architects..

there are a lot of variables when rendering in revit. lights, geometry, materials, modeling techniques, etc...
my current project is about 120 mb as well. very complex with lots of components that are not necessary to render like structural framing and ductwork. when i render if i hide certain categories, use light groups and section boxes it reduces rendering time by about 50%.
so.. like i said. isolate a single category, then render it. if it works you now know your scene is too complex for your machine.

I see you write: ".. the projet is about 2 houses and around there's their park. nothing extraordinary...".....
I could have a very small file filled with lots of trees and believe me ... it probably would not render. File size is a very small part of the issue. Complexity of elements and materials can overwhelm Revit's rendering power.

ah.. i've substitueted original texture with some in high resolution, original trees with high res 3d models.. probably this is what happend, too much work to do :-)
by the way internal render are longer and longer than external ones, but no problem...

on interior renders it is vital to use section boxes and light groups, if you don't mental ray is overloaded with data that you cant even see
