I am trying to create a lighting legend. So I created a "Legend" and pulled the correct "Legend Components" in for each light fixture. It only gives me option for one "View" which is Ceiling Plan. But when I put the "Legend Component" in the legend it appears as if it was in floor plan or something. It shows only the outline of the fixture instead of showing like it does in the reflected ceiling plan.
I've attached examples...image #1 is how it appears now in the legend...image #2 is the reflected ceiling plan and how I want the legend to look
Thanks

Send to support, sounds like a bug. The legend tool is still fairly new...

This is STILL happening - and it's two years later and i'm using Revit 2008.1 - it just happened to me with a 'floor based generic model' - I could only get a plan view. However a Sketchup generic model that I made a family out of shows up fine with top, bottom and 4 side views. See also recent post by Superelboogie on June 28, 2007 and I have found 3 or 4 more on this topic going back to 2005. If this was a bug, it is not fixed. However, given that it is still with us, I am more willing to believe that it is due to some setting in the generic model family. Please see what you can find out from AutoDESK if you have any 'sources'.

i believe this is also a bug but i have found that the below helps in your legend change your model graphics style to wireframe. i have found that with some objects that on the plan or reflected celing plan look fine with hidden line don't look right in the legend with hidden line but do with wireframe!

also if you want a celing based or floor based element to show in plan & front, back, left, right elevation you have to copy it into a generic model family, then it will show up. a work around i know but only takes 1 minute per family to do. it not ideal but works.
