I've noticed that if an element doesnt have a material applied to it then it doesnt show up in the material take off schedules. Im using these schedules to work out the weight of steel in my project and it seems rather light! is there a way to find all the elements in the project that doesnt have a material applied to it?

I am guessing the material parameter is currently set to By Cateogry, but your default material is unassigned.

Here's what you could do.

1.  Go to the object styles (VV->Object Styles) and change the default materials to something recognizably wrong (a default mass material would work just fine.  If a default material is already set, verify that the correct material is being used.

2.  Check your schedule, it should be there now.

3.  Either change the properties in the project browser, or use the show in model option (which selects the item as well)
