How do you make a 2 1/2" joist end extension on a sloping joist when you have a 5"+ seat bearing on a beam?
Also - how do I get the joist end extension to show up in plan?
Also - I am new to Revit so please spell it out for me :-)

Does anyone know the answer to this - or is there no answer?

Not quite sure what you are asking but I'll take a shot at it.
This thread might have the answer you are looking for:

The joist families that come with revit do not support sloping joist seats. As far as seat depth and top chord extensions are concerned; seat depth is a type parameter(must click "edit type" to change this. I recommend creating a duplicate type for the seperate seat depth) I believe, and top chord extensions are an instance parameter listed as "end extension".

It may not show up in course view but it should show in medium or fine.

The only problem with showing the plan work in medium or fine is that is shows the framing members top chord thickness. In plan work I want the joists and beams to be represented by a single line.
Any suggestions.

revitaggie - how did you learn the "lanquage" to use to type into the family types for the example you gave int this post:

It would be very helpful for me to understand what you entered into the formula area.

It is almost identical to what you would use in excel.
Unfortunately copyright laws prevent me from uploading those specific families.
