I have a structural floor plan in RST 2011, And am modifying the elements to be joists.  I can not longer use the bam annotations tool to indentify their top os steel elevation.  Is that correct?

I don't see why you cannot.  I just tried a joist in my model which was also part of a beam system and it worked.  Make sure you check off the setting to replace what is already there.

Hope this helps!

For the joist I tried before replying to you the first time the joist used was a light-gage mtl joist.  I just modified some joists in my model to change the structural usage and that didn't matter, it still reported what I wanted it to.

What are members you are changing to joists?  Anymore info you can provide would be helpful.
