Ok I have done this a million times but I have a feeling im not doing it the right way. I am creating a 24" x 24" Porcelain tile and I would just like somebody to please explain the right way to attach the tile pattern. Bump maps still confuse me a little because some are colored and some aren't i dunno..........If this is in the wrong spot I apologize ahead of time. Thank You.

Do you have a material for this???
You could assign a 6x6 or 4x4 or whatever material you already have by increasing the assigned scale of the jmg & bump accordingly. Then simply create a simple model hatch to match.

That is how I usually do it but it seems that the grout joints scale up when you scale it, so then you have these beefy joints instead of a nice fine 1/8" or so...........Sometimes I take a picture of the actual tile and bring it into photoshop and create a pattern and make my grout lines and such that way too. I just feel this is really silly that a 12" or 24" tile isn't standard as a revit material or bump.

You are correct, my solution would not work. You need a new jpg & bump file.

I'd take a picture of what you want, yes. My most successful render materials have been created with a scanner or camera, and photoshop. Getting the edges to line up is extremely easy if you *cut* the pattern mid tile, *paste* and *flip horizontal* on the opposite side of the image. You'll see virtually no repetition in the pattern.
Here's out wood texture for cedar that we use heavilly.
We put a shingle on the scanner. No kidding. Looks better than every single wood texture included with revit, and is similar in size - 500kb.

itsmyalterego....that wood texture is really really good. Also you are correct when creating your own material in photoshop or whatever it is, the quality seems to be alot higher. I just can't believe this tile issue is not standard in revit, I guess you can't always get what you want. Anyways back to the typical photoshop to create my tile. I will upload my rendering when its done to show how it came out. Thanks for the help guys
