Is there a way to set interior elevations, sections, and so on, so they are placed with the correct view template not the standard view template? Thank you,
2011

Many users don't seem to understand view templates. Here is what I do:
- Create view templates for each multiple view type. (Obviously unique views don't need a template and too many templates can be an issue to manage.) We have templates for floor plans, enlarged floor plans, RCP, elevations, Building sections, wall sections, detail callouts. .... and others as required\
- You can create a view template from a view that you have modified as needed.
- As a minimum, most templates should set scale, visual style, VG settings and VG settings for linked files.
- We also assign a sort category for the view. (Exmp - GUESTROOM ELEVATIONS) and our browser sort uses this.
- ASSIGN an appropriate template to each view. NOTE: This means you set it in the view properties.
- You can assign multiple views at the same time. Just hold down your shift key and drag across them in the browser - then assign the template.
- ALWAYS - ALWAYS - Edit the view template if it does not work for your views - don't change it in the view. If a view needs to be different, remove the view template or assign a new one.
Now, here is the really important reason to use templates. When it's time to print your documents, close all sheet expansions so you don't see the sheet views listed, hold down the shift key and select all your sheets, then pick apply default view template to all views. Wham! All views are now shown as they are supposed to be.

Thanks WW. I have been doing it right. I was just wondering if there was a way to assign my interior elevation view template settings to the interior elevation so it does it automatically, I guess not. I did not know about number 6 that will save a lot of time. Thanks,

hey guys, I have set up my view templates before but am still having a problem with the scale holding true. When I cut a structural section on the plan and open it the scale is set to the same scale my plan is. I know there is a spot to change the scale when you first start cutting it but really, do I have to change it everytime? My plans are usually 1/8" and my sections I want to cut at 3/4" scale. I'm using Revit Structure 2012 currently but have had the problem as far back as 2010. Any thought why the scale will not apply itself to the cut?
Thanks
