I have imported a football field from AutoCAD into Revit for a work project. I can see the lines in 3d mode but not when I render the image. What do I have to do to make the lines show up in the rendering? please help

It will not show up in a rendered view.  That is because there are no faces to render.  You need 3D objects.  A site with something like parking striping will render.  You can split a topo face to create the field markings but it would be easier as one - in-place family - solid extrusion - 1/4" thick on your site...which is flat.

What about turning your cad file into an image and using it as a material map or decal or some other trick to work as an underlay for your rendering?

Images will render
