Ok, so I have a site with sloping soil profile, so we created a toposurface to represent the proper grade elevations. Then we used the building pad tool to cut out the building footprint. So far, so good. Well, now we need to edit the building footprint, but when I select the pad, there is no option to edit it. I searched the help file, and it says to select the pad and then go to teh Pads tab on the modify ribbon. Only one problem. There is NO pads tab. Not on modify, and not on the arch/site ribbon either. I also can't even see any of the instance properties of the pad, nor can i bring up the type properties either. It's like all this functionality has been disabled.
So how am I supposed to edit my building pad now? It is a large building, and I don't want to have to delete and redraw it every time I need to make a slight change.
Thanks.

Here are screen caps of my architect/site ribbon and my modify ribbon, when I have the building pad selected, so you can see what tools are available to me.

make sure your selecting the buliding pad and not the topography created by your builidng pad. I've attached two pictures, the first shows the topography selected and no options appear. The second picture shows the pad selected and 'edit boundry' appears on the ribbon.

Man, that is exactly what I am doing. when I hover the mouse over the pad, the overall topo highlights. I then use the TAB key to cycle through what I can select. when the pad highlights, I select it. But I sure don't get that "edit boudary" option. I don't know if it matters, but my pad is set into the topo, not above it likes yours. I am at home now, so can't check it out. Thanks for replying. Frustrating to see it working on other people's versions. Guess I will have to create a service ticket with autodesk.

I really think that your just not selecting the pad. the screen shot you included of the properties menu clearly shows that you are selecting the topography. It doesn't matter if its above or below the surface, i just did that for illustrative purposes. Try turning off topography in your visibility graphics, this should help isolating the pad.

I had this problem recently and I think it is just your visibility settings - pads are under the Site category and I often have this turned off in my plans and 3d views. Try checking your visibility setting, and if that doesn't work I know you can cut a section and select it in that. Your edit options should appear once you can select it.

I usually end up going to a section to select the pad, then you should be able to edit its shape. Pads are one of the worst features in revit. often you may end up with little earth dams covering doors and such very annoying.

Wow, I am glad you pointed that out. You were right, i had the pad turned off since I had the "site" category off, and only was showing the Topo category. Guess I never realized that pads were site, not topo category.
Thanks very much.
