is this possible in 2012, i want to be able to work on drawings on my laptop but have a permanent window of the 3d on a second connected monitor. is that possible at all does anyone know

You can use two monitors in Revit if your system supports them but the view is not "permanent'. You would have to drag it over in your session.

thanks for the reply, just to make sure i understand what your saying is that i can tile the windows and drag one over to my 2nd monitor but its not a permanent thing where i can work away as normal and have the 3d seperate.
