I am most definately a newbie so this may be a simple answer I am just overlooking. While attempting to input an existing house into Revit I am running into a small condition with the door casing. I have used a sweep in the family and it is working perfectly for doors in the middles of walls. When the door moves to the corner of the room the casing will extend into the perpendicular sidewall. I know the casing was scribed to the sidewall in the field. Is there a simple solution for this in plan view? The 3d and elevation views are fine as the trim is buried in the perpendicular wall and not seen. Would just like to clean up the plan view a bit. If need be I will have to turn off the trim in plan view (assuming I can figure out how to control that in the view).
Thanks,
Tim

Making doors and windows are the most difficult ( i think) of the content creation in revit to master. You have to check and double check every line, nested family, and visibility in every view.
The best way to get to know that kind of family creation is break/study the parts that made the default doors and windows work.
To test if it the family works, i always create at least 2 types inside the family, changing at least the main parameters (like height/width). Then after the modeled parts are ready (and dont give errors at changing the type), i go to plan view and add detail lines, masks, fill regions, etc. I hope these tips are useful for you.

Yes. It also makes me feel better to know this is one of the more difficult parts to work with. Figures I wouldn't start with something easy. It has been an experience to put together doors and windows which don't break when you try to adjust the sizes. When I think I have just figured it out something simple causes a headache and I spend the next hour chasing my tail. But I think I am starting to make some headway. Thank you for the help.
