Maybe there is already a way to do this, and if there is, someone could point me in the right direction. There needs to be a way to simply assign a material or material property to a mass, rather than being forced to attach a wall, floor or ceiling. Some of the work I've done is modeling concrete shapes for building parts (caps, finials, etc) and I've found that creating a mass is the easiest way to get the shape, but attaching the actual concrete material is problematic, especially if the mass butts up against a wall.
