Hi

I made a family composed with 3 elements, then imported it into my project.

However, one of the elements was not shown in correct position in the project, please see the attached images.

It happens quite often that families are "exploded" when I imported them in to projects

Dose anyone knows how to fix it?

Thank you very much

Families are not exploded ever and they are inserted - not imported....so what are you really saying?

BTW - You images have no meaning to us - we have no way of knowing what the problem is.

Hello,

I think the part you are missing in your family creation is constraints...  Geometry that has to interact with other elements generally has to be constrained.  This typically refers to Hosted families such as wall based, floor based families etc.  If you model your geometry in a particular position it is based on the wall or floor being a certain thickness.  The wall you host it to in the project may be a different thickness thus the geometry gets pushed about if its not constrained properly.

Lack of constraints will also cause you these "exploded" like behaviour you described when you are attempting to make things parametric...
