Using Revit 2012. I added the parameter "Sheet Order" to my Sheet List schedule and I have the list of my consultants sheets from thier linked Revit file in my Sheet List. I can give my sheets a Sheet Order number to sort them but I can't do any sorting with the consultants sheets. Can Revit do this? If so what am I missing? Do I have to do a work around by creating blank sheets with the consultants Sheet Number and Sheet Name?

I haven't worked with this on any of our projects but you may have to give your consultants that shared parameter so that they can add it to their sheets. You can test this by adding it yourself to their file you have linked in.

We deal with this a lot...one of our projects have about 15 different Revit models and all contain sheets that need to be on the drawing index.
Hub nailed from what I can tell....you will need your sheet order parameter added to their files and then filled in appropriately as well. You can sort and group by that property and affect linked files, but you will not be able to change that property in the host file...if the linked file is ordered wrong, it has to be corrected in that model file.

Thanks, I was headed that way. I'm a newbie, or at least feel that way, to Revit even though we've been using it over a year. There is so many little hidden away checkboxes I'm always learning something new. Linking is the new concept of the week

Let me warn you.
Your consultants can't just create a shared parameter with the same name. It must be the same shared parameter. You can give them your shared parameter file or export this parameter from your file to a new shared parameter file and give them that.

digging up an old thread but, could this be accomplished by sharing a titleblock family between consultatnts and having that family contain the Sheet Sequence parameter?

I don't think there is a way for that to work. The parameter is a project parameter (shared) assigned to sheets.
