Hi All,

I am fairly new in Revit and am trying to self learn in from scratch so please forgive me if that may sound obvious.

I make an object using in-place family (let say a floor for example) but I am wondering how can assign a standard floor type to it? Or if it isn’t possible then how should I define a structure for it in way that I’ll be able to edit its family type later on?

Many thanks

Kayvan

You cannot change and in-place family to another family.  In-place families should be used (in general) for only single-instances of unique geometry.

Check this out and see if it helps.  I have not yet looked at it.

Thanks for replies, therefore emgeeo please correct me if I am wrong: for example if I make a floor by in-place then when I make section through it I will see its construction just as unify single object.
