Hello there,
I´ve got a problem with a fireplace I´m working on. I used bricks as extrusion materials (fo the wall as seen in picture attached) and I don´t know what happened and how I could manage to set it to the right position... a brick going sideways and not going up.
Any hints, comments, will be of great value. Thanks in advance.

Goto a true elevation, non rendered view. If you model hatch is also rotated (which it should be), then tab select your model hatch line and rotate it 90%.

not a problem -- when you're in a shaded w/ edges or hidden line view, you can hit tab, (by default your pointer doesn't hilight hatch lines) and select a line inside the brick hatch. you can then use the rotate tool, and rotate the brick hatch 90 degrees, and this will also rotate the render material's orientation.

Thanks for the quick replies, thou i couldn´t find a way to make it work
I used the Paint tool (PT), to add a material to this fireplace and i can´t find a way to rotate only the hatch... there´s nothing to highlight. I´ve managed to rotate the whole thing but then I´ll have to re-extrude everything to mold what i want.

Be careful with the paint tool -- it is very tedious to undo if you use it widely. It's much better to give the object a material.
it looks to me like you're in the "realistic" view setting. Where it shows you render materials. You want to be in either the hidden line (HL is the hotkey) or Shading with Edges (SD.) these views will show you surface patterns, with lines, instead of tiled .jpgs.
If my some chance your brick material does NOT have a surface pattern, you'll have to set that up in the materials manager before you can rotate anything. You need a hatch pattern to select in order to rotate the image.
