On creating walkthroughs on multi level buildings how do you go from one level to the next without breaking the path?
Is there a way to merge two different paths?
Thanks for any help,
-D

Hi there.
Yes there is a way to move through multi-levels.
1/ set the camera height each time you set a key frame- you can only set this at the time of placing a key frame, you can't go back and edit the camera height at a later stage (bummer)
2/ you can also "pan" the camera view if you use the "show path" option and then pick each key frame and move the cameras view point to the position you want. With this feature it allows you to "circle" around a building for instance.
If you are going to fully render a walkthrough can I suggest that you break the file up into as many many files as you can and render those on separate machines and when you have the exported AVI files "splice" them back together with something like MS Movie Maker- this will speed up the overall rendering time.
Hope this helps- if you need further help just ask.

I prefer to export the workthrough as JPG's that way if something does change i can just re-render the required frames instead of doing another AVI.

Goeffy, ofcourse you can edit the camera height after you have finnished your path! The easiest way is when you are in 3D view, you rightclick on the camera view in the browser window and then you click "show camera", then you edit the walkthrough and select "path" from the dropdown menu, now you can move your path in x-y-z directions. Mr Spot, you should know this...

I was letting Geoffy handle this one. I can't answer all the threads on my own... Thanks for picking up the slack.

Enran,
As my father used to say- "you learn something new every day"
It had not occured to me to try editing the view path in 3D view. What a great way to do it, although I do like to try and get the camera height set when I place key frames and then "pan" the camera at a later stage in plan view but hey the way you do it isn't as important as getting the result you are after is it?.
Thanks again for the tip.

Hi! Many thanks for the great information here...especially about the drop down menu for paths...I would have gone years without noticing that.
One more question: Is it possible to stop at one key frame along the path and look around? Say the path ends at the rail of a balcony and I want to look down?
