We have a partial revit 2009 user who went on holidays and did not relinquish elements in a workset project. Now we cannot edit plans as he has ownership. What can we do besides punch him when he returns???

cheers

i've had the same problem where i work. What i do is detach the central file and save by overwriting the existing central file, then created new locals. THEN WHEN YOUR COWORKER COMES BACK FROM VACATIONS PUNCHING. LOL JK

You don't have to do what Manny said but you can.  Instead, you can:

  1. Open Revit - no projects
  2. Under the Revit R, change your user name to the offending user
  3. Open the central
  4. Relinquish all and save to central
  5. Don't save a local (but if you did, you can delete it later)
  6. Close the file
  7. Go back to the R and change your user name back to yourself

Your done.
