I would like to do a night rendering and the only spot lights that I found adn like are hosted to ceiling. How can I change the host so that it will attach to a floor instead of a ceiling.
Thank you.

You can't convert a hosted family to use another host. Using Face based families gives you the most flexibility as it can attach to a wall, ceiling, roof, floor or any face for that matter.
If the lighting fixture was created by nesting another family into the ceiling hosted template then you could grab the nested family and relocate it into the host type you want to use.
Otherwise it's a matter of selecting all the geometry and copying from this family into the correct hosted template.
HTH.
