Can you rotate the topography fill hatch? I want it on a 45 degree angle

You can only rotate model hatches.....Is it?

Its not hatch its topography...I suppose I could hide it and do a hatch but even then it won't have an option to rotate the earth hatch like it does for line hatch why is that?

All hatches are hatches.  The topography hatch is technically (in the materials manager) "Site - Earth" material's cut pattern.  You can't assign a model hatch here, so no, you cannot manually rotate this hatch.  

However, you can load in a new hatch, and at that time, specify a 45 degree rotation for it.  I can't help you find the location of the .pat files.  lots on the net however.  Not sure where revit's included hatches are located.
