Hi GuysI’m working on a very large project that has about 10000 beams and 5000 columns just to get started. Previously the company I work for has been using ProSteel to do our structural modelling. I would have used Revit for this, however it was done before I arrived at the company. So I have this whole model in .dwg and I have exported it to Revit using ACIS format. The architect/client have demanded that we re-model in Revit to give them parametric control on every structural member. So the task of modelling over the top of the original model begins. However the is an instant problem, I have no 3d snaps to the objects within the model. If I try to draw a beam it simply will not snap to the imported members.I can re-model to the grids/levels if I have to, but on the basis this is a redraw I was hoping to do it quickly by simply drawing over the top of my import.Does anyone have any idea why I have no snaps to the imported members? is there something that can be done to make this work??If you want to see what I mean, just import any 3d dwg into Revit and try placing a beam on an imported object. If anyone has a solution to this it would be greatly appreciated. I think my partner would rather I didn’t work 80 hour weeks over the next month and so would I.RegardsCorey
