I am in the company's Revit Structure 2011 template and I have about 100+ drafting views created for my standard details.  They were drawn by someone who used the Centerline annotation symbol, but we don't like it.  We prefer "CL".  So an intern recently went through every view and deleted the symbol and replaced with "CL".  However, he missed one.  I am able to go to the PB and select all instances, but I don't want to just delete it, I want to go to that Instance to replace it with "CL".  Is there a way to do that?  Thanks in advance.

Check it's instance properties when you have it selected. It's workset should be the view it is placed in.

When I have the Centerline Symbol selected, my Filter shows "1" but the Properties palette is empty.  I guess that Symbol doesn't have any instance properties.  Did you try this method and it worked?  If so, I apologize, but where did you see the Workset and View Title?  It's not showing where I thought it would, in the Properties palette.

I tried it on a different symbol I happen to have in my open project. It's a generic annotation, but it is placed in a drafting view.

Edit: I just loaded and placed the centerline symbol and it's still working for me. I attached an image showing where I found the info.

OK, thanks.  My Properties palette doesn't have that information, for some reason.  I guess my Symbol family is different from yours.  I definitely wouldn't have started this thread if it was that easy.  Sorry to bother.

Sorry, that's all I have seen that will identify a view. The only other thing I can think of is to create a group, then see if the group instance properties shows the workset.

Is the "CL" an annotation family?

If so, then perhaps I am missing something here, but I do exactly what you are talking about w/o going to the view (most of the time).

Once you have it selected from the project browser, you can just change you selection in the type selector...should really be no need to go to the actual view it is in...though this does not always work.

The Centerline symbol would be in front of a text box that contains "Column" or something like that so it's like CL Column.  I wanted to get rid of the symbol, but then add CL to the beginning of the text box, then move it over a bit.  So, no, the new "CL" is not a symbol.  That's the problem.

Thanks though!

When I go to delete the Family from the PB, it tells me there's one instance that will be deleted.
