Hi,We are having major issues syncing to a Central Revit file located on a server. There are about 3-4 of us working off the Central file at one time. I make the file using the correct procedure (create the worksets, save the file to the correct location with the appropriate suffix CENTRAL). Some of us are using Windows XP and others are using Windows 7. The users who experience the most problems are on Windows XP. Do you think that this could be the problem? As I have exhausted most other trouble shooting steps.Main issues are not being able to sync (File Not Saved errors) and generally not being able to move elements for users in Windows XP. Thanks!

Your issue could be caused by who knows what, your explantion is vague
but when saving to cetral if everyone tries to save at one time it will go in order of first come first serve. and the second will get an dialog saying (something about not saving) can't remember the exact words. but if you don't hit the cancle button and just wait your turn the next in line will save after the one before is done. don't hit cancle.
another thing to look at is to make sure your worksets are set to Non-editable (no). if a user is set to editable (yes) they are the owner of the workset and other users will not be able to move (edit) elements on that work.
But central files can get a bit tricky so this is just my first thought to your post.

Great, OK I'll try the non-editable option and see how we go.
Your correct about waiting for the cancel button but it just takes way too long. (More of a ram and operating system problem I assume for the XP computers).
Ill post my findings.
Thanks

ollie - We are having similar issues within our office at the moment. As in, we have some users using Windows XP and Windows 7 and having troubles with the Windows XP users accessing the central file.
I am not entirely sure of the solution as of yet, but upgrading from XP to Windows 7 might be a worthy option.
