I have created a family for a structural brace made up of round tube.  The tube has a connector on one end and welds to a canopy beam on the other.  The conopy beam is sloped and I want to trim my tube to the same slope angle.  I've tried to trim tube in the family to no avail.  I've also tried to get it to trim in the project model and that won't work there either.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.......Terry

P.S    I'm using revit 2011

You should be able to add a void in the family to cut this element.  Read my post from a similar thread on making a parametric void:  http://www.revitcity.com/forums.php?action=viewthread&thread_id=17452

WW, I tried adding a void extrusion as suggested,  once I thought about it I thought this should work but it's not working.  It makes since to me to add the void and cut the geometry but I can't seem to make it work.

Thnks..........Terry
