Hey guys,
I am building a system for a friend for use or Revit.I have never build a CAD system befor only for games and ect...
What card should i be looking at ? he wants the system for games and revit.
The site says for large projects should get 2G+
so im looking at the
ATI 6970 2G or the GTX 580 1538 (this is not 2g but is the fastest singe card?)
Do i really need 2G? ATI or Nvidia?Any recomended high end cards that would suit Revit \ Games?
Cheers,
Shifty!

i would go with the nvidia, the gtx is a good all around card and if he ever dables with 3ds max or mental ray it utilizes the CUDA technology on the GTX

Hi,
I've got a similar question, I'm just replacing my current PC for use mainly with Revit 80%, some renderings work 10%, Photoshop 10%. I'm getting quotes for 3.4gHz Sandy bridge i5 + i7 systems. I am thinking I will pay the extra $150NZD for the i7. I am trying to fathom where I should head for a graphics card. I am leaning towards Nvidia. I have got a price for a
GT430 1GB $130NZD
GTX460 1GB $315NZD
Any other suggestions?? What are the pros + cons of spending the extra cash on GCards. Am I better to spend on GCard or Processors? I understand i7 is mainly extra multithreading?, but I think with me doing some rendering, it may be worth going the i7 route.
Cheers for your replies, A
