I am trying to do this roof ( see attached ) and with the normal roof method it doesnt make all the hips join at the one point so I have tried using the slope arrow. obviously something went wrong how can i make it pitch from the corner of the walls and change the pitch?

I assume that you are using the roof by footprint method. Be really careful that the geometry is exactly correct perhaps you have selected some walls and hand drawn some.

what Mbsteve said. I'd delete that roof and restart. There are two different ways to draw lines, and from what I've seen, the "pick walls" option will really screw you up. especially when combined with boundary lines that you simply draw.
"pick walls" is not to be confused with the pick line tool, in the drawing menu... the green line with an arrow to it. It'll save you so much time. If you hover the pick line tool over a line... like the outside edge of a wall, try hitting tab. You can select an entire chain of lines if you hit tab once or twice. And since your walls are joined, this would likely be a solid chain of lines. I digress. That's just a work speed tip.
Then, just finish the roof, and change the slope of the entire roof to be the same thing. You don't have to specify the slope of each line segment, unless you intend for them to be different.

The problem here is that the floor plan geometry will not give you equal pitches on all the roofs. To make this roof, each slope has to exactly match what it has to be to get to the peak.....This number does not have to be 6/12 or some even number like that. It can be 54/683 (<purely made up) or some absurb fraction like that. So find where this peak is and dimension to it from each face.

I believe he don't want that roof with that little slope like my first image, right? you want like my second image, correct? So the "slope arrow" must be perpendicular to the roof line.

Thanks heaps for your help guys the file is at work so Im trying to do it at home so the sizes arnt the same. What if the arrows cant be perpendicular as the 45 degree wall is to small in length. how did you create the roof with only slope arrow or with line aswell? In your 2nd picture is exactly what I need just lower pitch can this be adjusted in properties or not as your using slope arrow?
Here is the pic of me putting in slope arrows and scratching my head..

Jaime get Jing download is free and makes sharing pictures of your stuff really easy. The problem I see, is your desire to make something that isn't geometrically correct. Why is it that you want to do that. I get this kind of stuff all the time from Architectural Designers. If you want the roofs to fit make their geometry correct.

Thanks mate I'll look into downloading Jing. Client wants this shape and this size which is making it difficult. I guess I can just use line and draw it on don't think I need a 3D for this job but still would like to know how to do it anyway.

clients are often wrong and un knowing. Most buildings are forced so that function follows form to some degree. I suggest that you educate your client about the geometry of if. If you draw perpendiculars from the centers of the faceted walls this will indicate where the peak should be if the walls are all the same length and have uniform angles. If you want to use a non correct geometry get ready for some other suprises. For instance if you have different roof slopes then you will not have level fascia. Good Luck

Really wanna do this now. Typhoon how did you draw your roof using only roof slope or lines aswell? It always says lines intersect when I try can you show what you drew to get it. Much appreciated.
