I'm trying to get my window & door schedule to "count" and must be missing something. Despite having several of the same types of doors & windows in the project the count remains at 1 for the "mark" of the window. All other fields seem to populate correctly. Any ideas?
Thanks/

open your schedule view, then you go to Sorting/Grouping and click the "Itemize every instance" check box. Your getting 1, because you have 1 of that type, but your NOT getting all instances of that type... Unchecking this box is great for light fixture schedules, etc. Because we are not concerned with each instance of a light, rather each type of a light. ANYWAY, hope it helps,

Thanks for the reply. Itemize every instance was checked but it's still not counting each door.
Actually what it's doing is giving some windows their own mark, even though they're identical. There are some windows I can see on my plans with the same mark with a count of only one as well. I'm not sure what's going on.

Mark and count are two different things. For doors and windows, the mark field can have duplicate numbers. When a new door is placed, the mark is incremented by one from the last one placed was 100, the next will be 101 and if the last was C, the next will be D.
By count, you are referring to the schedule. Count is activated in the sorting/grouping tab and only works for the sorted/grouped field.

wwhub didn't say it this time, <sigh> but he usually does, "read the HELP file" on schedules. And as wwhub corrected me, verify that you have at least one field that you are sorting by for this to work. Since you have it checked, and your still getting something which is not to your desire, the next thing to look at is your fields. Try posting a screenshot of what you are getting, and explain how you want it, then maybe we can help you get from point A to B

Don't know what happened up there ^^, if a mod could delete those it'd be appreciated.
Thanks for setting my straight about what the "Mark" actually is. I guess what I really wanted was the "Type Mark" and as soon as I sorted by that and UNCHECKED Itemize every instance they collapsed and are being listed as I wanted.
Thanks for the help.
