I am working in Revit Structure 2012 and when I use medium detail level, my rebar shows with dual lines instead of a single solid line. Is there a new setting I need to change?

you can over-ride the graphics in the VV dialoge box. Change the detail level for Rebar to Coarse.
BTW, the quickest way to get to this categoriy in the VV is to select the item, right click, and select Override Graphics in View -> By Category.
Far-right side of the table is the Detail Level Option.
Furthermore, you can create a view template of this and apply it to all your views. You have options for which options to carry-over in the view templates, so uncheck everything except your Model View Overrides.
Make sense? I'm flying blind.

You might also be able to change the visiblity settings of the rebar through the type properties, or design bar, or right clicking. not sure. but, worth a try. It's easier to change a single universal setting than applying a view template to a bunch of views.

This suggestion works for individual views but doesn’t work for the global setting. There isn’t a detail level setting for the object styles dialog.
Why would they change this basic function after so many releases? GGGRRRRR!!!!

Rebar showing up as a single thick line in coarse and two lines (showing the actual size of the rebar) is something that has been true at least as far back as Structure 4. As emgeeo said, change the detail level in VG, then create a view template and apply it to your other views.

I have been using RST for all of my projects since R4 and most of them are concrete. Out of the box it has always been single line for coarse and medium and double line for fine. It must be a program setting because when I open a 2011 project with 2012, it changes all of my single line medium details to double line. See the attached details in RST-2011. The only difference between them is the detail level. I could supply thousands of examples from past projects.

My rebar shows up as a single line on medium detail.
I have no idea why yours does not.

It works fine for me in RST 2011 as well. It is 2012 that is broke. Here is the same detail I showed earlier in RST2012. This is medium detail. The only thing I did was to open the file in 2012. This really screws up my older projects. The rebar at 3/4":1'-0" is too busy for double line but you lose all of the structural steel beams and columns if you use coarse detail.
