Hi everyone
I am having a problem creating a spherical roof for a planeterium design I am currently working on, and would appreciate any help!! :-) I am also fairly new and inexperienced with Revit.
I am currently using Revit 2011, and started the process by creating an in-place mass (I also did this by creating a new family, and then loading the family into the project). I simply created a circle, then created a solid form, and then to have the top half, selected the other half, and created a void form.
At this point I have half a sphere, however whatever I do, I cant seem to change this solid spherical mass into a hollow roof.
I hope I have given enough informaiton, and would really appreciate any help anyone can give me. Thanks you.
DS

You can create directly in your project an "In-Place" family (Home > Component > Model In-place) in a "Roof" category with the material/texture you want.
Put some images so we can see what are you talking about.

Thank you Typhoon
The image you attatched is exactly what I need, however I am unsure how to create the hollow sphere following your instructions above. I have been able to create a half sphere using the model In-place, Roof catergory, however the sphere is still solid.
If possible, could you tell me the quickest method to create the sphere, as the way I am currently doing it seems quite difficult, and isnt working. My current process is as follows:
1) Home > Model in - place > Roof Category2) Model Lines > Lines > Draw half semi-circle (within Level 1 Floor Plan) 3) Home > Revolve > Specify Boudary and Axis Lines4) Click the tick, and then finish model
Thank you again for your help, and time!
Regards DS
