I need to make an open bond wall. Im trying to figure out what is the easiest way to make it. a new family, edit profile, etc.

any suguestions would be appreciated.

I would probably do an in-place void family for each wall elevation.  One per wall.  See this thread:

That void cut can be full depth so that the pattern shows from both sides.

If this is going to be a free-standing wall of only masonry and you need to see the patten from both sides then i would use edit profile.

i tired the 1st solution and the void was having a lot of problems cutting the plane.

i decided to just make a mass as a group and then array it along the wall. but that wasnt very editable and it bogged down my computer.

so i tried the second solution, and it looks great
