I am trying to place different kinds of skirting boards to an office block and am having difficulties applying them per room. One corridor wall is used for a number of different rooms. Each room has different skirting boards attched but when i'm trying to apply one skirting board it is stretching across all of the rooms.

Appreciate anyone's assistance.

Dave

I assume what you call a skirt board, we call a wall base.  My first question is, does this really need to be modeled?  We only model this if we require it for a 3D view.  When we do model it, we use an added wall sweep, not a wall sweep in the wall definition.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I have to include everything in the building into the model ( quite daunting I know) as I am building as built models of existing buildings. Therefore everything must be included.

I am manually applying the (excuse my vocab) skirting boards using a profile. Different rooms however have different types of wall base on them which is causing me some problems. When i am applying it manually I only want it to be applied within the room, not the full wall.

In that case, look into doing an in-place family, a sweep (not a wall sweep) that you sketch the path for around the room in the floor plan.  The sweep can be in the wall category so that it can be controlled through VG and scheduled with the walls.
