I have created a new mullion profile and loaded it into the project. Created a new L Corner Mullion but I don't have the option of selecting the profile. Profile is not listed in the properties. Profile is listed in Rectangular but not L-shaped. How do I edit this thing? Thx.
Using V.2011

open the profile family, then select the family categories and parameters button, (has the yellow folder on it for some reason...), here you have the different types of profiles your profile can be, you need to set it to be a mullion, or whatever you want it to be... i.e. if I was doing a wall sweep, I'd have to modify the profile to be of category "wall sweep".

Thanks for the reply, but I had already done that. What is happening is that when I try to switch out the profile in the project, the profile pull down isn't even an option in the L corner Mullion family type properties. This is a default mullion that came with Revit. The profile option is availible in the rectangular family but not this one.
Any other thoughts? Thanks.

If you had read the similar threads below, you would have found this:

The if your search your HELP for corner mullions, you will find this topic: Corner Mullion Types
I suggest your read both of these.

I had read both of those and others as well. I was hoping for a more recent answer than 6 years ago. It appears that it is a problem that autodesk has yet to remedy. Thanks anyway.

I'm no longer in architecture, so I don't know if they fixed it, but when I was in 2009, getting any of the corner mullions to work was difficult. I'd get artifacts of the wall showing through, etc. I ended up creating 2 different curtain walls, deleting the corner/end mullion on one, and changing the other one to the correct mullion. Then I aligned the panels in the curtain wall without a corner mullion to the one with the mullion... I did this because I kept getting that artifact in the wall, and it looked horrible, my fix at least made it print correctly.
Find it in the project browser under families, mullions, etc. What is happening I think is this: Your profile is just that, a profile family, NOT a mullion family. You now need to create a new mullion type which uses your profile. To do this, find the current L-shaped mullion in the project browser, duplicate its type, then edit its type and see if your profile is available.

Meigs,
What you can do is to load your custom corner profile into the rectangle mullion (since this is the only kind that accept loaded profile family), and then use it as a corner mullion.
you might have some offset settings to adjust, but you should be able to mimic it as a corner mullion

I experienced a similar problem with 2014. I don't know if this is a glitch or Autodesk has a reason for it.
Solution: Scroll down to the families in Project Browser > Curtain Wall Mullions and you can find all the default families. Just right click on any Mullion family, for instance; click on 'Circular Mullion' right click and make 'new type'. Select the 'Mullion' tool in the build toolbar and you can see the new 'Circular Mullion' loaded. Do the same for the rest. I am pretty sure there must be a reason for this, it's just that I don't know. It works, I tried it.
