Hi, I'm day two trying to learn this program. I drew a skirt wall, footers, sill boards etc. But nothing has color. If I render then the material and colors are there. But in tutorials I see colors while they draw

object styles on the manage tab.  Revit by defacto likes to be black and white, which depresses old CAD users.  I associate a pen with each CAD Pen weight (i.e.- .005 in CAD becomes Pen 1 in Revit).  Lets say in CAD my color was cyan (that word is just fun to say!), then I'd open the object styles, and change any color for all pen 1s to cyan.  Also, it might be your type of view, perhaps they are drawing in realistic or shaded views, whereas you are drawing in hidden lines...  At the bottom left of the workspace, just to the right of the scale, is your detail level (empty box or checkered box) and just to the right of that is your display mode (should show a Cube).  Click on this cube and select realistic.

Also, some handy hotkeys for visual styles goes like this:

HL  -  hidden line.  Black and white, very clear and crisp.  Prints like a line drawing should.

SD  -  Shaded with edges. easiest to interpret.

WF  -  Wireframe.  Good view to jump into when you need to select something beyond.  can easily be information overload.

I spend the majority of my time in SD for my working and 3d views, and all the views on sheets are Hidden Line.

I might just be spoiled, in 2010 and earlier I always used shaded, but I absolutely love realistic now...
