I've been trying to get an array to work and maintain its alignment. I was able to build the shape and get it to flex and maintain it's alignment, but when I tried to array it l lost the ability to flex and stay aligned, or it errors out. I tried editing the group but that errors out. I could get it to work one way or the other, but not both. So, I thought I'd try to create a nested family and see if that would work. I've been trying to align and lock but it only constrains it in Y axis, X moves when I flex it. I've tried moving the origins around, but it just won't stay aligned in the X axis.

I haven't even tried to array the nested family yet. I just want to get it to stay aligned.

I've read a few tutorials, but they haven't provided anything I haven't already tried, I think.

Array is best done by using nested family and when using array, i always choose array to "last", NOT to "second" (it is by default) so try it to see if it works.

I checked your family but not sure which part you want to array

Thanks pchan,

I was trying to get the pyramid shaped nested family (Family 4) to go, but as I mentioned, right now I just want to figure out how to make the nested family flex and stay aligned.

Make sure you set up the ref plane accordingly so that the first array nested family is locked to the ref plane. looks like u haven't done that yet.

and make sure the origin of the nested family share the same origin as the hosted family

I forgot to update this, so here it is.

I was able to get it to work without using a nested family. I placed reference planes in the sweep's sketch path and aligned and locked them to the family refernce planes. I don't recall if I tried it anywhere alse in the edit shape mode but I do remember it wouldn't work in the edit group mode.
