...why do the dimensions appear on the opposite end? Why can't they appear at the end closest to the arrow? It seems like a little thing, but I am constantly zooming out to see what the dimension is to a line or object that I have clicked on. Am I being too picky?

hmmmm I know what you mean. but I kinda got used to move around to see the dimensions. I don't think you can change that though.
